Five Rockland County Residents Nabbed For DWI In Weekend Stops

A dozen Hudson Valley residents were among 25 motorists busted in the area for DWI over the weekend as State and local law enforcement agencies continue their concerted efforts to curtail intoxicated drivers in the Hudson Valley as part of a national crackdown.

As part of the STOP-DWI crackdown, New York State Police troopers busted several motorists for driving while intoxicated as they attempt to stop motorists from drinking and driving in the area.

Local residents charged include:

Rockland County:

  • On Friday, June 15, State Police from Haverstraw arrested Haverstraw resident Avroham Newhouse, 43, for DWI. He was traveling on I-87 in Clarkstown when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, June 16, State Police from Haverstraw arrested Suffern resident Sugey Castellanos, 39, for DWI. She was traveling in Nyack when she was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and she was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, June 16, State Police from Haverstraw arrested Garnerville resident Shaquan Williams, 24, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 59 in Clarkstown when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, June 16, State Police from Haverstraw arrested Nyack resident Tyrell Walker, 23, for DWI. He was traveling in Nyack when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Sunday, June 17, State Police from Haverstraw arrested Stony Point resident Jonathon Zorn, 28, for DWI. He was traveling on the Palisades Parkway in Clarkstown when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.

Orange County:

  • On Saturday, June 16, State Police from Montgomery arrested Pine Bush resident Rebecca Hefter, 21, for DWI. She was traveling in Newburgh when she was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, June 16, State Police from Montgomery arrested Newburgh resident Vaugh Harper-Figaro, 26, for DWI. He was traveling in Newburgh when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Sunday, June 17, State Police from Hamptonburg arrested Goshen resident Shawn Hubbell, 41, for DWI. He was traveling in on Route 211 in Montgomery when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Sunday, June 17, State Police from Monroe arrested Middletown resident Diana Grecquet, 36, for DWI. She was traveling in on Route 17 in Monroe when she was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Sunday, June 17, State Police from Montgomery arrested Newburgh resident Eric Mclaren, 44, for DWI. He was traveling in Newburgh when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Sunday, June 17, State Police from Montgomery arrested Chester resident Dominick Trezza, 34, for DWI. He was traveling in Newburgh when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.

Dutchess County:

  • On Sunday, June 17, State Police from Highland arrested Poughkeepsie resident Debra Bell, 27, for DWI. She was traveling in on Route 299 in Lloyd when she was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.

Each of the arrested parties was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Each has since been released to a sober third-party and are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
